The European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri always loyal to the values dictating its high standard of education, has taken the initiative since 1991 of establishing the institution of educational trips abroad during the summer season.
The purpose of this institution is for students of the European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri to spend some time in the country where the language they are learning is spoken and to come into contact with it, meet students from other countries around the world, to exchange opinions and cultures, and to attend classes from teachers who specialize in teaching foreign students with the primary goal of intensive oral language exercise.
The students of the European Center for Language Studies visited the UK in August 2009 with Mrs. Merkouri as their chaperone and stayed for seven days at the comfortable boarding unit of QUEEN MARY COLLEGE, known for its high-level of education and discipline, in the MILE END district, ten minutes from the center of London.
August is usually the month for educational trips abroad for the European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri. For the academic year 2005-2006, the students, with Mrs. Merkouri as their chaperone, visited the UK again and stayed at the boarding unit of GOLDSMITH'S COLLEGE.
Paris, the city of light, considered by many to be the most beautiful city in the world, was chosen by the European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri as the place of residence for the summer period of academic year 2002-2003.
For the academic year 2001-2, the European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri chose GOLDSMITH'S COLLEGE as its residence, which is located in the NEW CROSS district in South-east London, 10 minutes from the center, in an ideal location for its exploring, as well as for all the renowned museums, theatres, parks and shops.
For the academic year 1996-97, STAFFORD House was chosen once again, where the trip had immense success and the parents and students expressed their satisfaction that this institution has been established in Pirgos.
The European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri chose Oxford as its educational trip for 1994-95, a unique university campus, a very strong tradition, a sight-to-see on its own, with magnificent architecture, abundant legacy in culture, numerous museums, libraries and well-known book stores.
For the educational year 1993-4, the European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri chose STAFFORD House as its point of residence, an international college in the evergreen and historically prosperous capital of KENT, CANTERBURY, in the southeast side of the UK, 80 minutes from London. This city today is an important educational, commercial, and business center with the best climate in the UK.
The European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri is an achievement inspired by Miranta Merkouri, who after lengthy studies and a professional career, domestically and abroad, returns dynamically in 1991 to the place of her descent, Pirgos of the Ilia prefecture, to fulfill her goals: to offer her knowledge and extensive experience in the field of foreign language education.
