August is usually the month for educational trips abroad for the European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri. For the academic year 2005-2006, the students, with Mrs. Merkouri as their chaperone, visited the UK again and stayed at the boarding unit of GOLDSMITH'S COLLEGE.
The College is well-known for its comfortable residence and exceptional organization, in the NEW CROSS district, ten minutes from the center of London.
The students went sightseeing all over London and enjoyed a unique performance of the play “The Phantom of the Opera” at West End, they had fun at the famous CHESSINGTON park just out of London, they admired the renowned OXFORD campus, as well as the city of STRATFORD-UPON-AVON, the birthplace of SHAKESPEARE, where they toured his house and the museum dedicated to his work, they shopped at OXFORD STREET and the famous COVENT GARDEN market and they participated in the wide variety of the College’s evening sport, entertainment (KARAOKE NIGHTS) and educational events.
The educational trip once again had a high-participation rate and success this year.
