Within the scope of offering high quality education to her teachers and students, Ms Miranta Merkouri arranged the first Webinar at the premises of her school on Monday, 28 April 2014, under the auspices of the Hellenic American Union Center for Examinations and Certification in Athens.
The Webinar was conducted by the Teacher Trainer, Examiner and Academic Coordinator with the Hellenic American Union Mr John Bardis, and consisted of two Phases. During the 1st Phase, Mr Bardis analysed the Written and Oral Exam strategies of the ECPE Examination (Michigan Proficiency) to the teachers of the school and answered their questions.

During the 2nd Phase, Mr Bardis conducted a Mock Speaking Test with students of the 3rd class of Proficiency, who are sitting the ECPE Exam in May-June 2014, and assessed their performance after completion of each stage of the exam.
The Webinar lasted 3 hours, and the experience and knowledge of Mr Bardis was valuable for teachers and students as it was back in November when he had visited our school to conduct again a seminar for teachers and students.

Within the scope of the continuing in-service training of her staff, the Teacher Trainer, Examiner and Academic Coordinator with the Hellenic American Union in Athens Mr John Bardis was invited on Wednesday, 13 November 2013 to the European Center for Language Studies by Ms Miranta Merkouri.
Mr John Bardis analysed at length the content, the structure and the duration of the E.C.P.E. Speaking Test (Michigan Proficiency) as well as its assessment. He also provided valuable strategies to the teachers of the school, and answered, in detail, questions they asked as regards the teaching and the preparation of students for this challenging certification exam.
In addition, Mr Bardis conducted a Mock Speaking Test with students, in the presence of the teachers and the students of the 1st class of Proficiency, assessing their performance after completion of each stage of the exam.
The Seminar lasted 3 hours, and the experience of Mr Bardis as an examiner and his knowledge of the topic of the seminar, were very useful to the students and the teachers.
Mr Bardis was accompanied by Mr Dimitris Orphanoudakis, Development Consultant of Educational Programmes with the Hellenic American Union in Athens.

The business associate and teacher trainer with the Burlington Book Publishers Ms Sophia Goudi was invited by Mrs Merkouri to her school in Pirgos on September 18, 2013 to present the new educational materials, software for interactive whiteboards and the upcoming changes in the International English Exams.
The teachers at the Center of Language Studies of Ms Merkouri had the opportunity to discuss with her issues related to Lesson Planning and educational software.
