European Center for Language Studies– Miranta Merkouri Fifteen Years Innovation - Quality(1991-2006)

The European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri, with the principle of always rendering a high standard of educational services, organised on Saturday, October 21, 2006 a gathering with parents of students from preliminary classes.

The event took place in the School’s Conference Room where Director Mrs. Merkouri with a team of teachers consisting of Mss. Evi Aggelopoulou, Dimitra Roussou and Mary Tzouvelakou presented the modern pedagogic methodology and technique used at the School for the learning of foreign languages especially the teaching program at the preliminary level.

Mrs. Merkouri analysed the “Multi-sensory Approach” applied at European Center for Language Studies during its teaching, according to the theory of multiple intelligence, and the way parents can participate in their children’s education.

Furthermore, the teachers thoroughly discussed with parents and answered their questions which involved topics such as vocabulary and literature comprehension, grammar, mistakes, homework, examinations, and the diversification of class activities (working groups, teaching material, slides, P/C’s, video, handcrafts, theatrical plays, etc.). The presentation was accompanied with slides and the parents had the opportunity to see samples of student construction sets-handcrafts and special projects as well as material from previous school theatrical plays. The next step will be for parents to observe model teaching at all levels, a tactic which is applied in the context of providing information and transparency, regarding our teaching method at European Center for Language Studies, which yields successful results in our City.
