The director Mrs. Miranta Merkouri, together with the teaching, staff presented to the parents of new students the teaching methods used by the school for the learning of foreign languages on Saturday 13 October, 2012.
Mr. Mike Pozantzis presented the variety of classroom activities applied in association with the theory of multiple intelligences. Ms. Adamantia Zafeiropoulou talked about the most suitable age to start a second and a third foreign language while Mmes. Mary Tzouvelakou, Dimitra Roussou and Evi Angelopoulou analyzed the syllabus of the English department.
Mr. Alexandros Oikonomidis’s speech dealt with the teaching of German. Initially, he focused on the way the oral exam is conducted for levels B1, B2 and C1. Then he analyzed the Medical Terminology lessons which are aimed at medical professionals who wish to continue their studies in German-speaking countries, a series of lessons that have never before been available in Pyrgos.
Finally, the parents were given the opportunity to see how the lessons are conducted on the interactive boards adopted by the European Centre of Language Studies-Miranta Merkouri since 2007 and on computers since 1991.

The evening ended with a buffet of pastries, sweets and refreshments offered to both the parents and the staff.
