The European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri, loyal to its declarations and the values which govern its operation, continues in Pirgos for 12 consecutive years, the well-established tradition of student theatrical plays in the foreign languages it teaches.
This is why, at the end of the academic year 2002-2003, it organized theatrical plays, in the School’s show-room, by the Kindergarden, Preliminary, and Regular C’ classes.
The purpose of these events is the combination of educational activities with cultural ones, which give a small note of spiritual elevation within the boring monotony of every day life, as well as the utilization of the rich artistic material available, not only amongst the children which observe foreign language courses but also amongst the teaching staff.
Through this effort, a studying atmosphere of enthusiasm is developed during the language teaching, where students grasp the usage of foreign languages with songs, dialogue, dance, and as they work together for the production of a play, they learn to communicate and cooperate with each other and freely offer to society.
The result impressed those who were present, who admired the “little stars” for their linguistic and artistic skills.
Congratulations to teachers Mss. Evi Aggelopoulou and Dimitra Katsimpeli who with great patience, desire, and persistence prepared these events.
As for educational and cultural activities during the 2nd trimester of school year 2002-2003, the European Center of Language Studies - Miranta Merkouri hosted yet again several events.
